1. How Much equipment do I carry when Climbing the Kilimanjaro Mountain?

As a climber, expect only to carry your day pack, that will keep your Climb safe and sound until you reach the Camp, as you do not need to carry your belongings because they are to be carried by porters. Hence depending on your priorities, it will define what you real need in your daypack, but Normally the daypack includes, Snacks, Drinking water, Rain Cloths, gloves and hat.

Porters are limited to carry only 15kg (35lb) hence depending on your personal belongings might need an extra porter which will have to go with an additional cost.

2. What do I do when I am slower than other climbers in a group when trekking the Kilimanjaro?

There is nothing to worry about being slower on trekking than, being slow is one of the strategy for acclimatizing well with the altitude, and nevertheless as you will be in a group you will be having more than one guide hence just follow the guide’s instruction and you will not have time of being slower than other climbers, do not panic with their speed you have plenty trekking time in a day.

3. Where do I sleep During the Climbing days?

Depending on the route you will be trekking through, other than Marangu Route where climbers sleep in huts, all other remained routes climbers are to sleep in tents, hence you will be carried with the Tents, sleeping bags and mattresses for accommodation during the climbing days. All this are to be carried by the porters whom you will be meeting them at the camp.

4. What will I be eating during the Climbing days?

Whether you’re a Vegetarian, Vegan or Non vegetarian, Halal or any other food limitations that you will be having, all of it will be provided, just make sure you mention it on booking and on your arrival to have the preparation for your meals. Three meals will be provided during the Climb (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

5. How physic do I need to Climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain?

Though there are several writings that says Climbing the Kilimanjaro is easy and not that challenging, but remember this, it is never hard or easy until you try it. Generally there ere no technical climbing skills for the Kilimanjaro climbing but the general physical fitness is needed for you to make it, However the big challenge on Climbing the Kilimanjaro Mountain is the is the effect of high altitude which can affect any climber regardless of the Physical fitness, age or gender.

However, it is the best idea to start some physical training if you have plans of Climbing the Kilimanjaro Mountain, this is to easy the climbing process and it may include hiking and the aerobic cross training to familiarize your body with the trekking process.

6. Will I be able to call my Family when I will be in Tanzania?

Tanzania has the connection facilities that enables travelers to access internet, hence there is no problem making calls, sending emails and contacting your family. The coverage can be Wi-Fi coverage at the hotel and at the office and you can also by Tanzania sim card under and purchase Credit for Internet, which you can access the internet throughout with your phone.

7. Are there good hotels to sleep with My family?

For family travelers, you should not worry on how you will be lodging with your kids, there are plenty hotels that has very goof family rooms depending on your request, just a prior information when booking is the most needed thing. The accommodation are available for both in Town and in the national parks during safari.

8. Can I climb the Kilimanjaro with my Pet?

Kilimanjaro Mountain is one of the National Park in Tanzania, and according to the park rules and regulations, any domestic animal is not allowed in the National park, hence it is not possible to climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain with your pet.

9. What Route Should I use to Climb the Kilimanjaro?

There are five different routes to reach the Uhuru Peak on the Kilimanjaro Mountain, each route has the minimum number of days for the climber to pay for, hence depending on your schedule and time limit and budget it is what dedicates you to choose the Climbing route. 10. Which currency do I need to travel with in Tanzania?

As now most of the travelers would love to travel cashless, but with their credit cards. The official Currency used in Tanzania is Tanzania Shillings (Tsh), however most of the payments are made by Shillings when it is small amount and the bulk or large amount can be paid in US$,

Hence travelers from the US can carry with them the US$ as it is possible for them to do the payments using the US$, nevertheless, travelers from the Europe are advised to bring Euros, British Pound or Swiss Franc which can be changed all over the Bureau De Change whereby you can use an international credit card preferably the Visa Cart in Most of the banks.

NB: With the payments using the international Credit Card, only Restaurants, Hotels and curio shops of higher category can accept as local shops accept cash shillings only

11. How do I get Tanzania Visa?

Generally, and a traveler need a tourist Visa when visiting a travel destination other than that of their home country. This applies to Tanzania whereby you will need a tourist Visa for you to visit Tanzania, which is with the cost of 100$ for United state passport holder, 75$ for Canadian and 50$ for the EU and the rest of the countries.

12. What type of accommodation will I be sleeping in?

Depending on your travel design and choice, Tanzania offers all type of accommodation to Caters climber of all kind, as there are Luxury Accommodation, Standard accommodation and budget accommodation, This ranges from Hotels, Lodges, Tented Campsite, Public Camping, Hostels and guest Houses.

13. Is Tanzania a safe Country to travel to?

Tanzania is in general a safest, as it is a hassle-free country. That said, you do need to take the usual precautions and keep up with government travel advisories. Avoid isolated areas, especially isolated stretches of beach. In cities and tourist areas take a taxi at night. Always remember to ask your guide or any member of Ngaiza Adventures for them to advise you on the places regarding the safety issues.

14. Should I give Tips?

As you will be having a crew who will be serving you throughout during the Kilimanjaro Climb, as a culture with every job you do, a reward is a Motivation for the next effort of the jo. 15. Is it possible to do both Kilimanjaro Climbing and Serengeti Safari?

Yes it is very possible, Just up on your arrival, you will be advised with the number of days you will spend in the Mountain and do safari depending on the number of holidays days you have and Ngaiza Adventures travel consultant can give you the travel plan.

16. Do I need a guide to Climb the Kilimanjaro?

Yes you need one, According to the Tanzania National Park Authority, Climbing the Kilimanjaro Mountain you must climb through the agency, and climbing the Kilimanjaro you must have the crew of 5 people a professional and certified Mountain guide, a chef and 3 porters. So you must climb with a guide.

17. Is tip included in the Kilimanjaro Climbing Price?

18. Can a Child Climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain?

According to the park rules and regulations, the minimum age for the climber is 10 years old, however with kids of the Significant trekking experience can be granted with the permit to climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain as the youngest American who made it at the Uhuru peak at the age of six in 2018.

19. Are there people living in Kilimanjaro?

Kilimanjaro is the Region Hence there are Societies, but Kilimanjaro Mountain as a National Park, there is no human activities allowed in, hence there are no people living in the Kilimanjaro Mountain but there are people live in Kilimanjaro region.

20. What do I need to pack for the Kilimanjaro Climbing?
